Edible Icing Instructions

Edible icing sheets should not be stored in the fridge - they just need to be stored somewhere flat, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. And ensure they are kept sealed in the ziplock bag until use - that way the air and moisture won't be able to affect it prior to use. Your cake can be stored in the fridge once the icing topper has been applied. Cakes can also be frozen, however please keep it covered as it thaws.

To remove the icing from the acetate backing just use a sharp knife or blade to start one corner and then gently peel the backing sheet away - works best if you peel the backing from the icing rather than the other way around. With the round pre-cut toppers, just bend these where they are cut and they should simply pop off the backing sheet.

When the image is placed onto the iced cake, ensure the icing is still moist or sticky. It is this moisture in the icing that will ensure the image blends with the cake. Gently smooth image on to the cake surface with your hand to remove air bubbles. For best results it is ideal if the top of the cake is relatively smooth.

Product performs best on ganache/fudge or butter icing. For best results image should be used within 12 hours of application to cake. Can also be used on icecream cakes or rolled fondant icing, after slightly moistening the surface. Using product on mock or fresh cream is only recommended if applied to cake immediately before serving as this type of topping tends to fade the food colours.

Icing sheets have a shelf life of approx. 12 months if stored correctly, however they are best used within three months of being printed. If you do have any trouble removing your image from the backing sheet or any other issues - please contact us or check out google for many tips and hints! This is generally only a problem in humid weather.

Edible image sheets can be extremely difficult to work with – not being able to remove the icing from the backing sheet does not constitute a refund for the product. There are many tips and videos on google if you are having trouble.
